David Michael Bartos, 75, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center, Mason City.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Epiphany Parish – St. Joseph Catholic Church, 302 5th St SE, Mason City, with Rev. Jake Dunne, Celebrant. Burial will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St NE Mason City, IA, with a Scriptural Wake beginning at 6:45pm.

David was born on September 22, 1947, in Glenwood, MN, the son of Robert and Irene (Hiebel) Bartos. He grew up as a middle child in a family with eight siblings. David was a graduate of Delano High School. He was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War, until being honorably discharged in April of 1967. On May 12, 1972, David married Carol Fauske, from this union two children were born. David spent work life as an engineer for several
different companies, retiring from 3M.

While living in Minnesota he was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, St. Paul and after its closing Transfiguration Catholic Church, Oakdale, MN. Recently, he had been attending church at Epiphany Parish – St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mason City, IA. David was an avid fisherman, coin collector and football fan, especially the Minnesota Vikings and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He was known to drink coffee everyday, eat a lot of pasta and enjoyed many oatmeal raisin cookies.
David was a great husband, father and grandfather. His family will miss how he was always there for them in their time of need. He took time to make sure that everyone was well taken care of. David had a way of making anyone feel like they were a part of the family.

Those left to cherish memories of David are his wife, Carol; daughter, Cheryl Bartos of St. Paul; grandchildren, Michael Bartos, Nicholas Bartos and William (Grace Gerold) Bartos; siblings, Vern Bartos, Linda Seibell, Janet (Brian) Lyle, Dean (Cindy) Bartos, and Les (Sharon) Bartos; sisters in-law, Marge Bartos, and Shirley Bartos; Carol’s family; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

David is preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Bartos; both parents, brothers, Mark and Dennis Bartos; siblings-in-law, Betty Bartos and Floyd Seibell.
