Sheila L. Sperr, 60, of Garner died Friday, October 28, 2022, at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.

Sheila L. Sperr, 60, of Garner died Friday, October 28, 2022, at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garner with Rev. Scott Kozisek officiating. The service will be livestreamed on the Cataldo Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be at Concord Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4th St., Garner and will resume one hour prior to services at the church.

Sheila LaRae Sperr, the daughter of David and Marie (Meyer) Waddingham, was born May 28, 1962, at Britt. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garner. Sheila graduated from Garner-Hayfield High School in 1981 and continued her education at Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville where she received her associates degree in journalism. She worked at the Clerk of Court’s office in Hancock County and the Garner Leader. On June 10, 1995, she was married to Keith Sperr at St. Paul Lutheran Church. They lived all of their married life in Garner where they raised their two daughters, Sarah Marie and Molly Renee. Sheila also worked at the law office of Earl Hill, Head Start as a bus aide and most recently in the food service department at Garner-Hayfield Elementary School. She enjoyed her family, crocheting, cooking, reading and working crossword puzzles.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, LWML and sang in the church choir.

Sheila is survived by her husband, Keith of Garner; daughters, Sarah and Molly Sperr of Garner; her mother, Marie Waddingham of Garner; two sisters, Shelley Witting of Garner and Sherry (Mike) Loftus of Charles City; a brother, Mark (Liz) Waddingham of Garner; father-in-law, James (Ellen) Sperr of Mason City; sisters-in-law, Melissa Williams, Sandra (Jerry) Perkins and Debra (Jim) Grillot; brother-in-law, James (Brenda) Sperr; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, David; niece, Brooke Waddingham; brother-in-law, Rick Witting; and mother-in-law, Ethel Sperr.
