IOWA CITY – No. 4/6 Iowa (0-0, 0-0) defeated Nebraska-Kearney (0-0, 0-0), 108-29, in its exhibition game on Friday night inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
The Hawkeyes outscored the Lopers 31-10, in the first quarter with a 19-1, run that lasted over four minutes.
In impressive fashion, Iowa gave up only five points in the second quarter to extend its lead to 61-15 at half.
Iowa never trailed in this game.
Iowa held the Lopers to single digits three quarters.
It was the second most points UNK has given up to a Division I school.
Iowa outrebounded Nebraska-Kearney , 44-25.
The Hawkeyes handed UNK its 25th loss to a Division I school in the exhibition era.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
Caitlin Clark and Monika Czinano combined for 34 points in 32 minutes of total action.
Czinano was super-efficient on the low block scoring 16 points, shooting 7-of-7 from the floor. She has led the nation the two years in field goal percentage.
Hannah Stuelke was the first freshman off the bench for Iowa. She registered double-figures with 18 points, tying Clark for the team-lead.
13 Hawkeyes saw action, and all scored.
