OBIT: Patricia K Millard

Patricia K. Millard, 85, a native of Ventura, passed away August 28, 2022 at the Doak Walker House in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

A celebration of life memorial visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, October 1st, 2022, at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 310 1st Ave N, Clear Lake, Iowa.

Family suggests memorials to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

Pat was born April 16, 1937 in Mason City, the daughter of Marvyn and Blanche (Inman) Renshaw. Pat graduated Ventura High School in 1955. She went on to receive a teaching degree from Luther College.

On June 8, 1958, she was united in marriage to Jerry Millard at the Clear Lake Methodist Church and enjoyed 51 years of friendship and marriage. Together they were blessed with three children, Terry, Todd and Teresa, four grandchildren, Matthew, Benjamin, Kegan and McKenzie, and three great grandchildren, William, Harrison and Josephine.

Through the years Pat taught school, founded daycare centers in Clear Lake and Glidden, Iowa and sold real estate. Her true passion was her family and friends. She hosted numerous family events through the years at her home in Clear Lake.

Pat also enjoyed traveling, taking many trips with Jerry in motor homes through the years. After Jerry passed in 2009, she took a number of trips throughout the country and Europe with family and friends. Her sense of humor and good nature making her a great travel companion.

Pat is survived by her three children, Terry Millard and his wife Tracy, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Todd Millard and his wife Denise, Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Teresa Millard, Mason City, Iowa, four grandchildren, Matt Millard and his wife Mary and sons Will and Harrison, Omaha, Nebraska, Ben Millard and his wife Shannon and daughter Josephine, Atlanta, Georgia, Kegan Millard, Seattle, Washington, McKenzie Millard, Salt Lake City, Utah, brother Robert Renshaw and his wife Heather, Dallas, Texas along with nieces, nephews and other relatives friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, her parents and her brother Fred Renshaw.
