Free coffee and community events in Charles City with the Floyd County Community Foundation

CHARLES CITY – The Floyd County Community Foundation will host a series of free coffee events every Wednesday in September at Aromas Coffee, 214 N Main St, Charles City, IA to bring greater awareness to the work of the Foundation and its partners and for the public to learn how they can be a part of making our communities better for everyone.

Anyone interested in learning more about the work of the Floyd County Community Foundation may stop by Aromas Coffee during the times listed for a free cup of coffee or other beverage of choice:

Wednesday, September 21 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Wednesday, September 28 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.

The Floyd County Community Foundation connects people to the causes they care about through endowment building, enriches communities through grantmaking to nonprofit organizations, and believes in the power of partnerships. In 2021, over $137,000 in grants were awarded to 23 nonprofit organizations serving Floyd County in the areas of areas of arts and culture, community betterment, education and youth development, environment and animal welfare, health, and human service. Decisions on grant awards are determined by a local governing committee, which is made up of volunteers from the county. And since 2005, over $2.4 million total grants have been awarded from all charitable giving funds of the Foundation.
