Ardis Dyvig, daughter of Otto and Vivian (Shearer) Engstrom, was born July 30, 1924 at Corwith, IA. She passed away at Humboldt County Memorial Hospital on Sunday, June 5, 2022. Private family graveside will be held at Union Cemetery in Humboldt.
Her family moved to Humboldt when she was three. She was raised on a farm, attending country school and Humboldt High School, graduating in 1941. She went on to Iowa State Teachers College completing that in 1943 and began teaching at Graettinger, IA. In September 1944, she began teaching 2nd grade in Humboldt Public Schools.
On September 10, 1948, Ardis was married to Donald Dyvig. They had two sons, David and Paul. The family farmed in Corinth Township. Donald and Ardis moved into Humboldt in 2001.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, of 67 years; her father and mother; sisters, Genevieve Dilly Ziegler and Lana Arends and their husbands. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, David of Ankeny, IA and Paul of Albert Lea, MN; grandchildren, Elisabeth, Rachel, Rebekah, Keren (Alex), Daniel (Kristin), Donald, Eli (Toni), Deborah, Michael, Luke, Jesse, and Julia; and great grandchildren, Jonathan, Dallas, Kylee, and Harvey.
Ardis was a member of Oak Hill Church. She loved the Lord and held His word dear to her heart.
