Northern Iowa police nab suspected cocaine dealer

OKOBOJI, IOWA – Northern Iowa police nabbed a suspected cocaine dealer.

As a result of a lengthy investigation, the Okoboji Police Department submitted charges and requested arrest warrants be issued for the suspect, Carlos Bernard Hicks. The charges include Ongoing Criminal Conduct (a Class B felony), Possession With Intent to Deliver– Cocaine (a Class C felony), and Possession With Intent to Deliver– Marijuana (a Class D felony).

On May 2nd, Spencer Police Officers were able to locate Hicks and he was subsequently placed under arrest on the outstanding warrants. Hicks’ bond amount was set at $50,000.00 cash only and is currently being held at the Clay County Jail on separate Possession With Intent to Deliver– Cocaine charges awaiting extradition to the Dickinson County Jail. Additional charges are possible in relation to this investigation.

During this investigation, the Okoboji Police Department was assisted by several members of the Iowa Great Lakes Drug Task Force, the Iowa Department of Public Safety’s Division of Narcotics Enforcement, the Spencer Police Department, and both Dickinson and Clay County Attorney Offices.
