SAC COUNTY – A Northern Iowa couple was busted on burglary charges and found with illegal drugs.
Sac County sheriff’s officials arrested two people on outstanding arrest warrants on Tuesday night April 19, 2022. 37-year-old Kevin Tjaden and 32-year-old Amanda Vaughn were taken into custody at Tjaden’s home located at 2723 320th Street, Lake View at 9:15 PM.
The charges stem from a search warrant served at Kevin Tjaden’s property on February 24, 2022. During this search, stolen property was located as well as drug paraphernalia in the home. A substance believed to be methamphetamine was in Amanda Vaughn’s purse. The purse was inside a vehicle parked in front of the home. The vehicle was registered to Vaughn.
Amanda Vaughn’s warrant was for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Tjaden’s warrant was for possession of drug paraphernalia. During Tjaden’s arrest, methamphetamine was found in his pants pocket. Tjaden was also charged with possession of a controlled substance second offense. Both were initially booked in the Sac County Jail.
