OBIT: Sharon Rose Ellwanger

Sharon R. (Picht) Ellwanger, 73, of 1330 N Elm Drive, Mason City, IA passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022 at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice.

A private family celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 15, 2022 in memory of Sharon.

Sharon Rose (Picht) was born on August 18, 1948 in Carroll, IA, the daughter of Paul Harold Picht and Delores Ida Yender.

She attended and graduated from Kemper Catholic High School. She met and married Vincent Dwight Ellwanger on June 28, 1969 and they lived in Jefferson, IA. She was a stay at home mother of three children: Teresa, Tracy and Brut until they moved to Clear Lake, IA in 1985 and she worked as a cashier at Easter’s. They then moved to Mason City where she worked in customer service at Wal-Mart until she retired.

Sharon mostly enjoyed spending time with family, pets and friends. She loved doing crafts, going to the casino and putting puzzles together. Her most favorite hobby was taking care of her variety of flowers.

She is survived by her loving husband Vincent Ellwanger, twin daughters Teresa (Ronald) Hadacek, Tracy Hadacek and significant other Harold Lewis and Son Brut Ellwanger, eight grandchildren: Brandon Hadacek and significant other Kere, McKenzie Hadacek, Nathan Olsen and significant other Kristina, Jacob Hadacek, Chelsea Bright, Lahana Olsen and significant other James, Macie (Zachary) Harris, Maranda Hadacek and fiancé Eric, nine great-grandchildren, sister Deborah (Dan) McMahon and her two daughters Jessica and Sherri and one nephew Todd Picht.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, three brothers: Monte, Rease and Dana Picht and one nephew Brian Picht.
