OBIT: Daniel Clifford Foster

Daniel Clifford Foster, the son of Clifford Foster and Stella (Groshens) Beck, was born on October 9, 1954, in Estherville, Iowa. He passed away on February 6, 2022, at Aspire Nursing and Rehabilitation in Estherville at the age of 67 years.

Daniel graduated from Estherville High School before earning his Associates Degree at Iowa Lakes Community College. He was a United States Peace Corp Volunteer for two years teaching agriculture to impoverished rural communities in the Philippines. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1977 and was honorably discharged in 1992.

While stationed in Colorado he was united in marriage to Libby Moore on February 20, 1979. From there they traveled the world together, doing tours in both Turkey and the Philippines before returning stateside in 1991.
Daniel worked for GKN, Firestone, and the Superior Elevator for many years. His true passion was raising cattle and caring for other animals at his farm. He was known and will be remembered for his great sense of humor and outgoing personality.

Daniel is survived by his sons, Austin (Sheila) Foster, North Sioux City, SD, Jared Foster, Melvin, IA, and Nicholas (Shawn) Foster, Michigan; his grandchildren, Connor, Evan, Kailyn and Delanie Foster and Jacob Foster; his mother, Stella Beck; his siblings Pam (Michael) Whitters, Roberta (Dave) Utley, Cynthia (Eddie) Hannagan, Tammy (Russel) Lair; many nieces and nephews, and his loyal dog Belle.

He is preceded in death by his father, Clifford Foster, his Stepfather Charles Beck, and his wife, Libby Foster.
