
CHARLES CITY – There is an election on March 1 for continuance of the local option sales tax (L.O.S.T.) in Charles City and Floyd County.
The city of Charles City says this tax has been used in maintaining and constructing streets in the city. In the last 10 Years L.O.S.T. Collections totaled $7,800,000, the city says, leveraged into $12,210,000 worth of city street/road projects equaling 7.2 miles in total Length.
