AMES – An Iowa man allegedly stabbed his roommate with a knife, and cops charged him with murder after the victim eventually died.
On February 19th at 2:46 A.M., Ames Police responded to a report of a stabbing at 510 7th Street. Officers located a victim who had been stabbed in the upper torso with a knife by his roommate. Officers also located the suspect in the house and placed him under arrest. The victim was treated for life threatening injuries and transported to a hospital by air ambulance.
The suspect was identified as Robert A. Lyon, age 39, of Ames. He was charged with Attempted Murder, a class B Felony.
The victim was identified as Maccarone D. Declements, 39, of Ames, and he has died as a result of his injuries.
Robert A. Lyon is now charged with Murder in the 1st Degree, a class “A” felony. Lyon is being held in the Story County Jail.
The Ames Police Department continues to investigate this incident.
