AMES – Iowa State battled the national champion and #1 Baylor Bears, but came up short and lost their first game of the season, 77-72, Saturday in Hilton Coliseum.
Baylor displayed why they remain undefeated (13-0, 1-0) which superb athleticism, crisp passing and tough competitiveness in the game. Iowa State’s newly-constructed team (12-1, 0-1) has climbed to #8 in the national polls, and hung tough but fell behind early and couldn’t quite match Baylor.
Iowa State’s downfall was a bad shooting night from deep, going 1-14 from 3-point range.
