Kenneth Ray Stockdale, 72, passed away on September 7, 2021, at MercyOne Medical Center in Mason City, IA.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St NE, Mason City, IA. Inurnment will take place in Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City, IA.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 9:00am to 10:00am at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St NE, Mason City.
Ken was born on May 4, 1949, the son of Thomas and Lucille (Michehl) Stockdale of Eagle Grove, IA. After graduating High School he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree at Mankato State. In Kenneth’s college years he was a talented wrestler. Ken was such a skilled wrestler that Dan Gable was never able to pin him. He received the National Champion title in 1971. Later on he taught Physical Education, refereed and coached at numerous High Schools in Minnesota. Eventually Ken slowed down and retired.
On April 6, 1995, Ken married Pamela Wentwoth-Runge in Mason City, IA. Together they spent their time traveling the world and enjoying each other’s company. Ken really cherished spending time with his family. He also was strong in his faith.
Those left to cherish memories of Ken are his wife, Pam Runge-Stockdale; children, Kendra Stockdale, Sam Stockdale, Damon (Mindy) Runge, Deon Runge, and Tonya (Bill) Tuttle; eight grandchildren; and one great grandson; siblings, Eugene Stockdale, Robert Stockdale, James Stockdale, Joyce Hill, Connie McConnell, Diane Terwilliger, Luann Brickei, Doris Madson, David Stockdale, Marcia Sadler, Tim Stockdale and Mark Stockdale; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great friends.
Ken is preceded in death by both his parents, and his siblings, Betty Rasmussen, Danny Stockdale and Jerold Stockdale.
