OBIT: Rodney Fisher

Rodney Fisher, 62, of Charles City, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the University Of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.

A funeral service for Rod will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City with Erik Hoefer officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home and continue one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Rodney Jay Fisher, the son of Gary L. and Beverly A. (Hurst) Fisher, was born on December 11, 1958 in Charles City. He graduated from Nashua High School. In 2006, Rod was united in marriage to Melissa Greenzweig at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

Rod worked for many cable companies, most recently being with Mediacom. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, and boating. Rod and Melissa took many day trips and traveled around the United States. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings, Iowa Hawkeye, and Iowa State Cyclones football fan. Family was very important to Rod. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his father-in-law, Duane.

Living family members include his wife, Melissa; children: Josh (Courtney), Shawn (Bailey), Kalen (Jessica), and Stacy (Lindsay); grandchildren: Riley & baby Scarlett due in February, Ella, DaShawn, & Landon, Rowley, Kyrah, Autumn, Kenny, Tessa, & Asher, and Isabella & Theodore; sisters: Dawn, Diana, Dori, and Deb; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gary and Beverly Fisher; brother, Rick; and nephew, Danny.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
