MASON CITY – Mayor-Elect Bill Schickel and the newly elected City Council will host an Oath of Office reception from 3:00-4:30 pm on Wednesday, December 22 in the second floor conference room at City Hall. The formal oath of office will be given at 4:00 pm.

The newly elected City Council members are At Large Member Tom Thoma, Second Ward Member Will Symonds, and Fourth Ward Member John Jaszewski. Also being sworn in will be newly elected Park & Recreation Board Members Melissa Fabian and Anne Hansen.

The public is invited to attend.

Mayor Bill Schickel swore in elected Park Board Member Mike Doc Adams earlier today due to his unavailability to attend on the 22nd.

    I heard there will be coffee, donuts, and Increased property taxes for nothing.

    The schools keep adding on as enrollment keeps shrinking. We will hear soon that they have to make cuts in staff etc… no shit funding is distributed by the number of students you have or don’t have.
