Ronald Dean Hansen, the son of Rasmus Lawrence and Verda Doris (Jegelum) Hansen, was born on August 31, 1937 in Estherville, Iowa. He passed away on December 5, 2021 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 84 years.
Per Ron’s wishes, no services will be held.
Ron graduated from Estherville High School before marrying Ruth Etta Phillips on May 31, 1957 at the Methodist Parsonage in Estherville, to this union. two children were born, David Dean and Cynthia Sue.
Ron served 25 years in BTRY C 1/194th FA BN.
He worked for FW Woolworth, Hansen 66 Service, John Morrell Co, Mau Trucking, Holiday Express, and Iowa Lake Community College. He retired in 1999.
Ron is survived by his wife, Ruth Etta (Phillips) Hansen; his daughter, Cynthia Sue Hansen; and a grandson, Matthew David Hansen.
He is preceded in death by his son, David Dean Hansen, his sisters, Doris Worms and Carol Rost. and his parents, Rasmus and Verda (Jegelum) Hansen.
