OMAHA – Iowa State improved to 8-0 for the first time since the 2015-16 season and just the sixth time in the history of the program with a huge road win over Big East foe Creighton Saturday night in Omaha, 64-58.

New head coach T.J. Otzelberger is just the second of 21 Cyclone head coaches to start his career 8-0.

Iowa State snapped a 25-game road losing streak, winning a true road game for the first time since Feb. 16, 2019 at Kansas State.  Iowa State was 2-22 last season and is in the middle of a remarkable turnaround under Otzelberger, who rebuilt the team with transfer players and a stellar freshman, Tyrese Hunter, at guard.

Kaleb Grill evened the score at halftime at 23-23 with a clutch three-pointer as the half expired.

Iowa State owned the second half by putting distance between themselves and the Bluejays (7-2,0-0 Big East) with stifling defense and crisp offense.

Iowa State next faces in-state rival Iowa (7-1) on Dec. 9 in Hilton Coliseum.
