OBIT: Mark Robert Besch

Mark Robert Besch, age 56 of Rodman, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at his home. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the Divine Mercy Catholic Parish – Sts. Peter and Paul in West Bend. Services will be live streamed on Lentz Funeral Home’s Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/Lentz-Funeral-Home-122511234501273. Burial will take place in the West Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 from 4:30 PM until 6:30 PM at the Divine Mercy Catholic Parish – Sts. Peter and Paul in West Bend.

Mark Robert Besch, the son of Robert Frank and Ruby LaVonne (Zaugg) Besch, was born on August 26, 1965 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He graduated from West Bend High School in 1983 and attended meat cutting school in Pipestone, Minnesota for one year. After college, Mark began working as a meat cutter in Ridgeport, Iowa. He later owned a locker in Stanhope and then a grocery store in Janesville, Minnesota. When Mark moved back to Rodman he worked at Skoglund Meats.

Mark was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He was an avid bird and deer hunter. In the past, Mark competed in Shoot To Retrieve competitions with his dogs. Mark also enjoyed fishing in South Dakota with his friends and family. One of his favorite things to do was spend time with his family and friends.

Left to cherish Mark’s memory is his sister, Marcia (Tom) Sadler of Aurora, MO; a nephew, Jonathan (Chrissy) Sadler of Springfield, MO; three aunts; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
