IOWA CITY – Iowa defeated Slippery Rock, 99-47, in a home game exhibition Friday evening.
Iowa used a 24-0 run in the second half to bust open this game. Patrick McCaffery led a balanced Hawkeye scoring attack with 18 points. Keegan Murray chipped in 17 points on 7 for 10 shooting.
Slippery Rock could manage just 14 field goals against a stingy Iowa defense.
The Hawkeyes open the 2021-22 season on Tuesday, Nov. 9 against Longwood. Tip-off is set for 9:05 p.m. (CT).
