Gov. Reynolds appoints Valerie Clay as District Court Judge

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds
DES MOINES – Gov. Kim Reynolds today announced her appointment of Valerie Clay as a district court judge in Judicial District 6.

Clay, of Marion, Iowa, currently serves as an assistant county attorney in the Juvenile Division of the Linn County Attorney’s Office. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and her law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law.

Clay fills the vacancy created by the upcoming retirement of District Court Judge Mitchell Turner. Judicial District 6 includes Benton, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Linn, and Tama counties.
