Ronald “Ron” James Hrubetz, 68, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA.
A Memorial Service will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church, 201 Franke St, Joice, IA at 1:00pm Saturday, August 14, 2021.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 13, 2021, from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Bethany Lutheran Church in Joice, IA.
Ron was born on May 9, 1953, in Mason City, son of Charles and Lucille (Knutson) Hrubetz. He was a graduate of Northwood High School and went to further his education at NIACC, attaining a spot on the Dean’s List. In May of 1988 he married the love of his life, Rhonda Larson, who he had met in Albert Lea, MN. For countless years he was the owner/operator of Ron’s Heating and Cooling, until his retirement.
In his free time Ron enjoyed taking his wife on motorcycle rides, going camping, dancing, playing cards, horseshoes, basketball with the grandkids and listening to music, especially the Beatles. Along with enjoying the simple things in life, having a nice looking yard was something Ron took a lot of pride in, keeping grass to perfection. To Ron, family was most important and was always there for them, spending time with them whenever given the opportunity. He was a father figure to many and always gave a good outlook on life. He will always be remembered for his infectious laugh and kindness.
Those left to cherish memories of Ron, are his wife, Rhonda; sons, Justin (Amber McLaughlin), Josh (Amanda Manahan), and Seth (Enisa); grandchildren, Maddy, Tiara, Landon, Triston, Lexi and Olivia; sisters in-law; Phyllis Hrubetz, Mary Hrubetz, Nancy (Lars) Baird Tonding, Gayle Truesdell, and one brother in law, Dave Gallaher; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Lucille Hrubetz; brothers, David Hrubetz, Richard Hrubetz, and Loren Hrubetz; and sister, Kathy Gallaher. Mother and father in law, Wayne and Donna Larson. Brother in laws, Craig Larson, Dane Baird and Brian Truesdell.
