WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Biden made remarks Tuesday on the 6-month anniversary of the Donald Trump-incited attack by traitors on the U.S. Capitol, that took place on January 6, 2021:
Not even during the Civil War did insurrectionists breach our Capitol, the citadel of our democracy. But six months ago today, insurrectionists did. They launched a violent and deadly assault on the people’s house, on the people’s representatives, and on the Capitol police sworn to protect them, as our duly elected Congress carried out the sacred ritual of our republic and certified the Electoral College vote.
This was not dissent. It was disorder. It posed an existential crisis and a test of whether our democracy could survive—a sad reminder that there is nothing guaranteed about our democracy.
But while it shocked and saddened the nation and the world, six months later, we can say unequivocally that democracy did prevail—and that we must all continue the work to protect and preserve it. That requires people of goodwill and courage to stand up to the hate, the lies, and the extremism that led to this vicious attack, including determining what happened so that we can remember it and not bury it hoping we forget. It requires all of us working together—Democrats, Republicans, and independents—on behalf of the common good to restore decency, honor, and respect for the rule of law. And it impels our government—both the executive and legislative branches—to take the urgent steps needed to protect the fundamental right to vote.
It also requires all of us to remember who we are as a nation at our best—and that we are so much better than what we saw on January 6th. We are the United States of America, and over the last few months we have shown what we can do when we come together—beat a deadly virus, get our economy going again, and prove that democracy can deliver for the people.
On this day, Jill and I send our condolences again to the families of the U.S. Capitol Police officers who lost their lives or suffered severely in defense of our democracy. We pray for them and for our nation.
Together, let us demonstrate to ourselves, and to the world, the enduring strength and the limitless capacity and goodness of who we are as Americans.

Using YOUR way of thinking then, Pelosi,Schumer, Waters,Ocasio-Cortez,Omar,Ted Wheeler(Mayor of Portland),Jenny Durkan (Mayor of Seattle), and many more Democrat Representatives, Senators, Governors, and Mayors are guilty for inciting riots, encouraging terrorist insurrection, murder(deaths during),looting, arson, rape, and assault.
I don’t see YOU or YOUR so called party of law and order, who incidentally stood around with thumbs in ass blocking attempts to stop the summer terrorist insurrections and riots, calling for charges against them.
Instead we see YOUR party leaders aiding these scofflaws. Summer insurrectionists were bailed out of jail by a fund created for that purpose, by Kamala Harris, another criminal act a conservative would be prosecuted for.

There is a huge difference between protestors and people who break into a locked federal building while in session, especially when those insurrectionists were attempting to stop govt proceedings. Huge difference.
I’d say there is a big difference. One is a group of Patriots taking a stand against election fraud at the highest level. The other group are domestic terrorists that kill and destroy property over a false narrative of police hunting black peoples (there is NO data that supports this narrative).
Patriots? According to the Constitution it’s not patriotism to attempt to take over govt proceedings by force. Try denying that isn’t what tRump supporters were trying to do- they were trying to force their political beliefs on the govt.
Get over tRump’s loss, remember he lost the popular vote by almost 3 million in 2016, it’s not a stretch to realize he lost by more in 2020 because he just isn’t the peoples’ choice.

Why are you OK with election fraud? Why are you OK with some people getting 2, 3, or 4 votes to your 1 vote? Why are you OK with machine printed ‘mailed in’ ballots being fed through counting machines in the middle of the night with no polk watchers? Why are you OK with cnn claiming ‘there is no evidence of election fraud’ when countless data scientists can tell you what transpired at night is statistically impossible?
I am not “ok” with any of those things but none of them happened the way you believe they did. It is just more fear about perceived evils that Republicans have found to be effective in attracting large numbers of American voters. If they told the truth about all these things that have supposedly happened, they would have substantially fewer voters than they do now because their platform is so weak. Remember their 2020 platform? If you don’t, that is ok because they didn’t have one. They ran a candidate rather than a body of ideas. They didn’t have to sell their non-existent platform because they had a person who knew how to make other people flock to him. His only desire was to destroy President Obama’s efforts because he thought that would make himself a more popular figure. It did for awhile but his narcissitic personality and over-inflated ego combined with his lack of decency became too much for many of us to bear. This led to a record turnout in 2020 to ensure he did not continue on as the top representative of this country. He is not coming back. Too many burned bridges and his cavalier handling of the pandemic turned even those who tolerated his bully pulpit agenda away from him.
