LaVonne C. Pedelty, 62, of Mason City, died Saturday (May 22, 2021) at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.
A gathering and celebration of life will be held at a future date.
The daughter of LaVern and Pearl (Wagner) Miller, LaVonne Cecyle was born on March 27, 1959 in Mason City. She grew up in Clear Lake alongside her sisters, Linda, Charlene, and Nancy. She attended Clear Lake High School and in later years earned her GED from NIACC.
LaVonne was united in marriage to Michael Jensen and they became parents to Shannon Marie and Daniel Lee Jensen. Shannon passed in infancy at only five days old and Daniel preceded LaVonne in death on April 19, 2002.
On February 7, 1997 LaVonne married Dale Pedelty at their home in Mason City and their two families blended into one to include his children, Tom and Amy. LaVonne and Dale enjoyed nearly 20 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2016. They especially enjoyed trips on Dale’s Harley and visits to the casino.
LaVonne loved the company of friends and family. She was known for her love of animals, reading, and fishing. For the last five years she has enjoyed the companionship of Al Brooking and their dog, Ziggy.
Those grateful in sharing in her life include Al Brooking; step children, Tom (Megan) Nestvedt and Amy (Tim) Lewis; grandchildren, Angel and Cody as well as Dale’s grandchildren; sisters, Linda (Larry) Barlow, Charlene (Ray) Schneider, and Nancy (Al) Ashland; as well and many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many friends.
LaVonne is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; and children, Shannon Marie and Daniel Lee Jensen.
