Cher Ami Mae (Gunderson) Barr, 78 of Northwood, died Friday, May 14, 2021, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2021, in the Fireside Room in the lower level of First Lutheran Church, 309 9th St. N., Northwood.

Cher Ami was born January 8, 1943, the daughter of Ernest and Edith (Severson) Gunderson in Des Moines. She graduated from Northwood-Kensett High School in 1960, Hamilton Business College in 1961 and received her CNA certificate from NIACC in 1993.
Cher Ami was a member of First Lutheran Church in Northwood where she was baptized in 1943 and confirmed in 1957, and also volunteered her time in the Joanna and Judith Circle. She operated an in-home daycare for 20 years, was a bookkeeper for Worth County Co-op and Oil as well as a nursing assistant at Good Shepherd and MercyOne North Iowa Hospice in Mason City.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and loved all the dogs in the family.
Cher Ami is survived by two children, Charles (Marlene) Barr of Rochester, MN and Debra Higley of Northwood; and granddaughter, Mandy Conner of Rochester, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
