CHARLES CITY – A Charles City man is facing serious charges connected to the alleged sexual abuse or molestation of a child.
53-year-old
Jeffrey Ralph Hitchcock, age 53, was arrested on a warrant on February 19 and faces charges from the Charles City police department of 1) FELONY C LASCIVIOUS ACTS WITH A CHILD – FONDLE OR TOUCH and 2) FELONY C SEXUAL ABUSE – 3RD DEGREE. The alleged crimes took place February 1, 2020 and February 12, 2021, respectively, according to records.
Hitchcock is being held on $15,000 cash-only bond in the Floyd county jail. An arraignment is scheduled for March 15, 2021. He appears to be represented by attorney Timothy LaPointe.
