Spectator guidelines for baseball and softball games for Iowa high school athletics

MASON CITY – Mason City High School would like to share some COVID-19 adjustments for spectators planning on attending softball or baseball games this summer. We are asking everyone to cooperate with these guidelines so we have a safe environment at our games.

If you are exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with someone, we ask that you please stay home until symptoms have cleared.

TICKETS/ADMISSION

● Each school will receive 2 tickets per player/coach per team.
● Ticket allows ticket holders to pay admission. Mason City will not be charging admission.
● Tickets must be used for the event level specified on the ticket.
● Tickets ensure admission for the first game. After the 1st game, gates will be opened for admission

of additional fans until stadium/complex is at social distance capacity.
● Everyone MUST have a ticket to enter ~ this includes children of all ages.
● Ticket gates will open 30 minutes prior to the start of the contest.
● Reminder ~ between each level of games spectators will be asked to leave the stadium/complex for cleaning purposes. You will need a ticket for the next level of competition to re-enter.

CONCESSIONS

● Concessions will not be offered at venues with the exception of Harlan Rogers Park, Fort Dodge.
● Coolers will be allowed to be brought in for individual use except at Harlan Rogers Park andare subject to inspection.

MISCELLANEOUS

● Individual schools may require additional COVID measures such as requiring fans to wear a mask. ● You are encouraged to bring your own lawn chairs for seating and hand sanitizer for use.
● There will not be any game programs for events. Rosters may be found on Varsity Bound.
● Please do not chase foul balls. This will be the responsibility of the players during the games.
● Reminder to please refrain from spitting on the field or in the stadium/complex. No sunflower seeds will be allowed and refrain from blowing bubbles with bubblegum.
● As a district, Mason City’s capacity numbers are based on the areas that we can control throughout the contest. Baseball is the stadium and softball is the fenced area of the complex. If you choose to sit in other areas to watch the contests, we request you follow social distance guidelines.
● All spectators are encouraged to go to their cars right after the event and wait for their player in the car. No loitering will be allowed.
● Mason City is working on live streaming. More information will be sent out when/if this is possible.

Mason City Schools reserves the right to change these guidelines as circumstances arise and/or alter restrictions as they warrant. We appreciate your cooperation in following these guidelines. If you have any questions, please contact the school.
