Minnesota man nabbed after eluding Northern Iowa law enforcement in auto chase

WINNESHIEK COUNTY – A Minnesota man was nabbed after eluding Northern Iowa law enforcement in an auto chase.

On June 9, 2020 in Calmar, Iowa, a deputy witnessed Thomas Yennie cross the centerline and almost strike another vehicle. The deputy initiated a traffic stop. Yennie made a few turns in Calmar and then headed northbound on Highway 52. Yennie continued to elude deputies on several Winneshiek County roadways. Deputies were able to obtain license plate information and discontinued the pursuit. Several hours later the vehicle Yennie was driving was located in the ditch on Madison Road. On June 10 around 5 PM, a local citizen called about a suspicious person near Madison Road. Deputies identified the suspicious person as Thomas Yennie. Yennie was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail for felony eluding, felony possession of controlled substance – 3rd or subsequent offense and fraudulent use of registration.
