Man shot in Albert Lea, police seek suspects

ALBERT LEA – A man was shot and seriously injured in Albert Lea as police seek the suspects involved in the incident.

On May 9, 2020 at approximately 3:41 PM, the Albert Lea Police Department received a report of a shooting that occurred in the 1200 Block of Gene Ave.

A 21 year old male victim was located at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers rendered first aid to the victim at the scene.  The victim was transported to MCHS-Albert Lea by Mayo Ambulance and was later transported to Rochester.  The victim is in stable condition at the time of this press release.

The suspects fled in a vehicle prior to officers arriving on scene.  The suspects are believed to be known to the victim.

This case remains open and is actively being investigated.  This is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.  If you have information related to this incident, contact the Albert Lea Police Department at 507-377-5200.
