PITTSBURG, Kan. — NIACC sophomore point guard Quentin Hardrict signed a national letter of intent this week with Pittsburg State University.

Pittsburg State, a NCAA Division II school in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Asssociation, was 12-18 overall in 2019-20 and 7-12 in the MIAA.

Hardrict, a Minneapolis native, was a first-team all-NJCAA Region XI selection during his sophomore season. He heled lead the Trojans to a record of 25-7 and a berth in the NJCAA Region XI title game.

“We are very excited to add Quentin to our roster for next season,” Pittsburg State coach Kim Anderson said in a Pittsburg State release. “He is a floor general, hard worker, and someone who can make our program better both on and off the floor.”

Anderson just completed his third season as head coach of the Gorillas. Before arriving at Pittsburg State, Anderson was the head coach at the University of Missouri.

Hardrict, who lists at 5-foot-10 inches, averaged 16.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game as a sophomore.

As a freshman, Hardrict averaged 15.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists in the 2018-19 season.

Hardrict scored 884 career points, which ranks 19th on NIACC’s career scoring list. He collected 302 career assists, which ranks fourth on the school’s career list.

As a staff, we want to continue to add players who can really shoot the ball and make plays for teammates and Quentin fills that role for us,” Anderson said. “He does a nice job of making the right play in the point guard position and I believe he can be a quality defender in the MIAA.

“Quentin has a chance to come in next season and make an immediate impact for us.”
