EAST LANSING, MI – Iowa dropped a hard-fought, close game on the road to Michigan State Tuesday night, 78-70, despite another top-notch performance from Luka Garza.
Garza extended his streak of +20 points in Big Ten games to 13 which ties a school record for most consecutive in conference play (Fred Brown, 1971). Garza is now tied for third in program history with the most points in single-season (662).
Senior Ryan Kriener netted double figures for the third consecutive game with 18 points tonight.
Iowa battled to a 33-27 halftime lead, but couldn’t hold on in the second half as Cassius Winston of the Spartans led his team all the way back.
Iowa (19-9, 10-7) returns to Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Saturday in front of a sold out crowd against Penn State at 11:01 a.m. (CT).
