Firefighters douse rural Clear Lake tractor fire

CLEAR LAKE – Firefighters rushed to douse a rural Clear Lake tractor fire Saturday afternoon.

The Clear Lake Fire Department was dispatched to 270th Street and Eagle Ave., rural Clear Lake for a report of Tractor Fire, on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at approximately 13:54 hrs. The Clear Lake Fire Department responded with 1 Brush Truck, 2 Engine Companies, 1 command vehicle and an Ambulance with 10 firefighters and 2 Medics. Once CLFD arrived on scene we were able to knock down the fire quickly, keeping it from spreading though out the field. Tractor was tilling a corn field about 20 yards from 270th Street.

No one was injured in the incident.

The Tractor – a 2010 CAT 675C owned by Mathew Allen of Bristow, Iowa – was a total loss, estimated at $75,000.
