ESTHERVILLE, IOWA – A Northern Iowa deputy was assaulted during the arrest of a man this weekend.
On October 20, 2019 at 2:00 AM, deputies with the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office were assisting the booking and jailing process of 25-year-old Nathan Miller. Miller had been arrested by the Emmetsburg Police Department for his involvement in a fight at The Office. Miller was non-compliant with jail staff and deputies during the booking process and a deputy was assaulted resulting in bodily injury.
Miller was evidently restrained and subsequently charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer, an aggravated misdemeanor.
Miller was booked and jailed to await his initial appeared before a Judge and soon bonded out.
