NIACC women ranked No. 4 in NJCAA Division II poll

MASON CITY – The NIACC women’s basketball team is ranked fifth in the NJCAA Division II poll released Tuesday.

NIACC (11-4 overall, 2-0 ICCAC) was No. 10 in the preseason poll, held down the No. 3 spot in the three December polls and was fourth in the first poll in 2019.

Last week, NIACC topped Iowa Central (79-62) and dropped a 85-56 decision to Iowa Western.

In this week’s poll, Johnson County CC is ranked No. 1, Illinois Central is No. 2, Highland is No. 3 and Kansas City (Kan.) is No. 4. Kirkwood, which hosts NIACC on Saturday, is ranked No. 10.

NIACC returns to action Wednesday at DMACC in an ICCAC contest. Game time is slated for 5:30 p.m. in Boone.
