Minneapolis man in stolen car caught after high-speed chase in Floyd county

CHARLES CITY – A Minneapolis man in a stolen car was caught after a high-speed chase in Floyd county this week.

Charles City police say that on January 15, 2019 at about 10:50 PM, they assisted the Floyd county sheriff’s department with a high speed chase on multiple roads between Charles City and Floyd.  The Floyd county sheriff’s department confirms that the driver was 20-year-old Leonard Lewis of Minneapolis, who was allegedly driving over 100 miles per hour at times during the pursuit.  He was caught after he crashed his vehicle.

Lewis was charged with eluding, operating without owners consent, two counts of interference causing bodily injury, and other traffic violations.  He’s due in court later this month.
