Two Charles City men hurt in vehicle rollover near Mason City Friday morning

RURAL MASON CITY – Two Charles City men were hurt in a vehicle rollover near Mason City Friday morning and alcohol is suspected to have played a factor.

On November 16th, at approximately 12:58 AM, the Cerro Gordo Sheriffs Office responded to single vehicle collision. The driver, 22-year-old Robert Frazer of Charles City, Iowa was driving a 2007 Kia Spectra eastbound on Highway 18 near mile marker 188 when he lost control on his vehicle and entered the south ditch. The vehicle rolled multiple times before coming to a stop. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and sustained moderate injuries. The passenger, 21-year-old Justin Frazer of Charles City, Iowa sustained moderate injuries. Both subjects were transported to Mercy Medical Center by Mason City Fire.

At this time, the accident remains under investigation and alcohol is suspected to be involved.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Mason City police and Mason City fire and rescue.
