Northern Iowa woman sent to prison for meth delivery

NEW HAMPTON, IOWA – A Northern Iowa woman has been sent to prison for meth delivery.

On Tuesday, October 2, 2018, 43-yer-old Anna M. Schmitz, age 43 of Ionia, appeared in Chickasaw County District Court with counsel and entered a plea of guilty to the offense of possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) with Intent to Deliver (Class “C” Felony).

Schmitz was sentenced to 10 years prison. Schmitz was also sentenced to a 10 year and 5 year prison term in Hancock County District Court. The Chickasaw sentence of incarceration will run consecutively to the Hancock County case.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office transported Schmitz to the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women, located in Mitchellville, Iowa.
