Northern Iowa woman dies in Wright county car crash

RURAL CLARION, IOWA – A Northern Iowa woman died in an auto crash in rural Wright county Monday.

The incident took place around 4:11 PM, Monday, October 1, 2018, about 5 miles east of Clarion on Highway 69. According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2012 Toyota Sienna van driven by 29-year-old Ciara Leeann Loux of Eagle Grove was eastbound on Highway 69 and was about to make a left turn to continue northbound on Highway 69. At the same time, a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 driven by 49-year-old Ray Woodley of Rockwell was southbound on Highway 69. For an unknown reason, Loux’s van drifted across the centerline and struck the left, rear corner of the Dodge. As a result of the collision, Loux was pronounced deceased at the scene. Woodley was taken by private vehicle away from the scene with unknown injuries.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by Belmond and Clarion Ambulance Services.
