NIACC women place 4th at Graceland Invite

LAMONI – The NIACC women’s golf team placed fourth at the Graceland University Invitational on Saturday with a 390.

Grand View University won the tournament with a 341 and Missouri Valley was second with a 353.

NIACC was led by sophomore Ashley Alert with a 93. Sydney Fullerton shot a 97, Jordyn Barragy shot a 99 and Morgan Luecht shot a 101.

“The girls aren’t happy with their scores (Saturday),” NIACC coach Chris Frenz said, “but the hot temperatures really had an impact.

“I’m always pleased with the effort I see out of them. The course was playing long and the greens were slow and we just didn’t adjust great to that.”

The NIACC women resume their fall schedule on Oct. 2 at the Iowa Wesleyan Tiger Classic in Fort Madison.

“We have a couple of weeks off now to take a breath and focus on school work,” Frenz said.

Team standings – Grand View 341, Missouri Valley 353, Graceland 364, NIACc 390, Southwestern 394, Peru State 406, Missouri Valley B 407, Graceland B 453.
