UNI college student from Mason City accused of sextortion of young woman

CEDAR FALLS – A man from Mason City attending college at the University of Northern Iowa is accused of trying to bully a woman into sex.

Christian Albert Gossweiler, age 18 of Mason City but attending college at UNI in Cedar Falls, allegedly received nude photos from a woman via a social media app, then demanded sex from her in exchange for keeping the photos secret. KXEL Radio reports that after the woman contacted police and a sex rendezvous was planned, Gossweiler appeared on the scene and was arrested. He was charged on August 23 by University of Northern Iowa police, records show, with felony extortion. He was jailed and soon released. A no-contact order with the alleged victim was put in place by a judge, but that order is benign challenged by Gossweiler’s public defender.
