NIACC’s Davison records 7th fastest 5K time in school history

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Freshman Emma Davison moved into the top 10 on the NIACC women’s cross country all-time performance list Friday night.

Davison placed 61st at the Augustana University Twilight Meet in a time of 19 minutes, 40 seconds, which is tied for seventh on the school’s all-time best list for a 5-kilometer race. Davison help lead the Lady Trojans to a 14th place team finish with 446 points.

Davison’s time tied NIACC’s Kelly Ipsen, who clocked a 19:40 at the 2007 NJCAA national meet. Davison’s time was the fastest by a Lady Trojan since Jessica Blumberg clocked a 19:18 5K at the 2015 Arkansas Chile Pepper.

Also Friday night, NIACC freshman Caitlyn Regan placed 98th in 20:14, which ranks 13th on the school’s all-time best 5K list. Sophomore Julia Dunlavey placed 107th in 20:19, which tied her personal best for the third time.

Also for the Lady Trojans, Cecelia Hemsworth was 155th (21:17), Alana Wickering was 197th (22:07), Laney Wilson was 216th (22:34), Miricle Corbo was 232nd (23:11), Ive Rollene was 253rd (24:24) and Aubrea Thompson was 260th (24:47).

South Dakota was the women’s champion with 24 points. South Dakota senior Megan Billingham was the individual champion in a time of 17:12.

NIACC returns to action Sept. 14 at the Grand View Viking Invitational on Sept. 14.
