NIACC men place 12th at Augustana Twilight

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The NIACC men’s cross country team placed 12th at the Augustana University Twilight Meet Friday night with 381 points.

Nebraska was the men’s team champion with 34 points. Sioux Falls’ Mason Phillips was the individual champion in a time of 21 minutes, 14 seconds on the four-mile course.

NIACC was led by sophomore Abdiaziz Wako, who was 50th in 23:00.

NIACC freshman Sam Pedelty was 102nd (23:47) and freshman Gavin Connell was 103rd (23:47). Other counting scores for the Trojans were Daniel Hennigar (125th in 24:18) and Grant Dieken (149th in 24:57).

Also for the Trojans, Zane Miller was 166th (25:19), Seon Clarke was 241st (28:37) and Derek Carpenter was 264th (34:41).

NIACC returns to action Sept. 14 at the Grand View Viking Invitational in Des Moines.
