GRANGER, IOWA – Suspicious financial transactions in excess of $200K in an Iowa school district has landed a woman in jail.
On January 31, 2018, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, with the assistance of the Office of Auditor of State, began providing law enforcement assistance in an investigation into a string of suspicious financial transactions at the Woodward-Granger Community School District.
A comprehensive investigation into the improper disbursements revealed that the Woodward-Granger Community School District’s former Business Manager – School Board Secretary, Melissa Lee Lantz, 35 was the sole person responsible for $221,851.27 in improper payroll disbursements.
On August 22, 2018 a warrant for Theft in the first degree was issued out of Dallas County for the arrest of Melissa Lee Lantz. On August 28, 2018 Melissa Lee Lantz was taken into custody at the Dallas County Jail. Lantz has bonded out of the Dallas County Jail.

The Revenue men can take whatever they want. They don’t need a search warrant to waltz into your dwellings. During the 80’s they were rife with corruption. Even the police nowadays will seize any cash it can get it hands on. You are guilty until you can prove your innocents. That is a given. Besides maybe the Revenue men changed and are now on the up and up. lmao
Why can’t they seize assets to get repaid something? The payment plan they set up would take more than their life expectancy to repay.
Is income tax due on embezzlement income? Irs can seize assets that would be exempt in bankruptcy. Wonder why they don’t.
