ROCKWELL, IOWA – Rockwell’s Adam Wedmore will seek to become the next Auditor of Cerro Gordo county after the resignation of Riley Dirksen.

I am pleased to announce my candidacy for the position of Cerro Gordo County Auditor and willbe seeking the Democratic party’s nomination. As a lifelong resident of Cerro Gordo County I amproud to call this place home and care deeply about its continued success. The Auditor position comes with great responsibility to ensure many essential functions of government are done accurately, timely, and within the confines of regulation.
Having always had interest in government that dates back to my school days at Rockwell- Swaledale I have always followed and been active in local government. I’ve been active in manyorganizations and served on various elected and appointed committees. My time spent working with these groups has helped to expand my working knowledge of budgets, the election process, legal processes, and governmental requirements. I feel my background, experience, and knowledge will allow me to fulfil the duties of Auditor and ensure the continued success of our county.
I’m proud to call Rockwell home where my wife Kristen, a 2nd grade teacher at West Fork, and Iraise our three children- Owen (9), Olivia (3), and Greyson (1). I look forward to earning the support of the party and the voters of Cerro Gordo County and am eager to work for the voters.

My comment about the spelling mistakes in the above article has been removed, why. Why would anyone be offended about pointing out miss spelled words, “observation matters”.
Adam is a pretty straightforward guy. He will do well if elected to the position.
I find it interesting that Riley resigns and Mr Wedmore. Already has a website ready so he can run for this position. It looks like the fix is on. Hopefully someone more qualified steps up to the plate and runs against him.
In reply to ‘Anonymous’: Take no offense, as none is intended … but Mr. Wedmore actually IS qualified. In his management position at NIACC and in various other quasi-governmental capacities, he’s shown himself to be highly capable.
I serve as a director of a county Board with him (Adam is the chairman), which is the basis for my opinion of him. Adam always arrives prepared, is well-organized, listens to every director, takes notes during the discussions, follows up accordingly and he efficiently runs the meetings.
I’m a Republican and Mr. Wedmore is a Democrat; I’m not trying to tell you for whom to vote. But the office he’s seeking is an administrative position. In my view, it wouldn’t be easy to find someone who is better qualified to serve in this elected office.
Experience various committees. He doesn’t sound qualified to me. Because he is seeking the democrat nominee Sharon and Amanda will hook him up just like Riley. No thanks

Get a clue & do some research before you judge.
