MASON CITY – A man is in custody after as many as five persons were hurt in a stabbing spree at a downtown Mason City bar called “The Place 2B”.
The incident began sometime after 10 PM when an emergency call was made about people being injured by at least one male subject. NIT was notified at 10:19, with the communicator saying, “Several people being stabbed at the place to be right now on North Federal, 3 subjects with injuries right now!”
Another tip was forwarded by another communicator, saying “yeah five people got stabbed I was at the ER with someone when I saw.”
One female allegedly suffered a stab wound or puncture wound, on her back near the right shoulder. The injuries didn’t appear to be life-threatening, sources tell NIT.
Police quickly apprehended Raul Millares Arias, age 39, (update: of Mason City). He was taken to a detox unit at the Cerro GOrdo county jail after midnight, charged with 5 counts of willful injury causing serious injury. He could face decades in prison if a lenient judge doesn’t take mercy on him if he is guilty.
A source with knowledge of the incident tells NIT, “guess the dude got cut off of being served… went psycho randomly stabbing people. My friend’s boyfriend was one of them.. got stabbed in neck, not sure how many stitches he got… she’s going to let me know when she gets to his house.”
“The Place 2B” bar is owned by an LLC company called J & W, LLC, which shows a Mason City address of 1214 Moonstone Court, which is owned by Roger Waner. He’s facing a drunk driving charge at this time and has entered a not-guilty plea, awaiting trial later this year.
THURSDAY MORNING UPDATE ON INCIDENT FROM MASON CITY POLICE:

Let’s have our local dumocraps explain this one. It’s a little different when it hits home.
Can’t speak English, but the globe says he’s from mason city. I think that he’s from Hampton. Another rat that slipped through the fence, or under the wall.

39 years old and needs a Spanish interpreter -> probability of illegal status=98%
It’s a shame some didn’t put a bullet in his dirty face when they had the chance to legally do so. USA and Mexico would both be better off with this scumbag pushing dandelions.
Looks like a DREAMer to me
ACLU and Democrap Max (-the scene) Waters will be flying into Mason city airport long be fore ICE comes to get the wetback>
That dirty smirk knifed 5 innocent neighbors of yours and your biggest problem is that someone called him a wetback?
Hey that was me.
Were you selling girl scout cookies.
Not sure where my first post went, but, I wanted eLViS to tell us how he knew they were illegals? Did you go ask them for citizenship papers?
About a quarter of the Iowa immigrant population is illegal and the number is even higher amongst those of Hispanic origin so it’s not that wild of a guess
Wonder how long till they admit he is an illegal?
What is wrong with you people!? Deadly force doesn’t get more justified than this! Incarcerating this trash bag will end up costing us millions. All of this could have been avoided had a stand up citizen done his civic duty and put a bullet through his dirty face.
This is what happens when there is no rap music.
Check this fellers green card!
Can’t speak English, and the globe says he’s from mason city. But where’s he really from, Hampton? Another rat that slipped through the cracks, or under the wall.
Two years ago while being nabbed for felony fraud, he claimed to hail from Austin, TX. It’s a shame we can’t just deport him into the Mexican gulf without life jacket

“He could face decades in prison if a lenient judge doesn’t take mercy on him if he is guilty.”
You need to do some research before you make such statements.
Arias was charged with 5 counts of willful injury and depending could be either a Class C felony or a Class D felony
(See below)
“The Class C felony version of willful injury in Iowa is punishable by 10 years in prison,
while the Class D felony version of willful injury carries a 5 year prison term.
Since the Class C felony version of willful injury is a forcible felony in Iowa,
a conviction requires that the court sentence the defendant to prison and that the defendant serve 70% of the conviction before being paroled.
However, the Class D felony version of willful injury is not a forcible felony under Iowa law.”
Now Arias does have a criminal record, but even if convicted of 5 counts of a Class C felony, the sentences would be served concurrently, so even at 10 years in prison (the maximum) he could be out in 7 years.
Nowhere near your statement of “Decades”…look before you leap.
You have no clue if the sentences will be served concurrently or consecutively .
Get real.
Bad ownership, dangerous clientele, sounds like another place to stay away from in Mason City
“He could face decades in prison if a lenient judge doesn’t take mercy on him if he is guilty.” This is unbiased journalism? Wow Matt.
what does the bar owner with a OWI, deal with the the stabbing, sounds like someone is alittle butt hurt.
And, now it starts right here in River City.
It’s slowly but surely creeping up on us.
