BREMER COUNTY, IOWA – An Iowa man died in a crash after he lost control of his vehicle on Highway 218 near Waverly.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place Friday, June 29 at about 2:11 PM at the 195 mile marker on Highway 218, just past Waverly. Richard L. Martin, age 72 Earlham, Iowa, was northbound in his 2004 Ford Ranger when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway, entered the ditch at the Janesville interchange and rolled several times.
As a result, Martin was transported to a WAverly hospital, but was pronounced deceased.
The accident is still under investigation.
