2018 season of local Historical Society now opens

FOREST CITY – The Winnebago County Historical Society opens the 2018 season with celebrating 60 Years of Winnebago Industries – the Winnebago travel trailer and motorhome construction in Forest City Iowa.

In 1958, local citizens raised $50,000 to bring Moderistic Industries to
Forest City to build Aljo trailers. It was later sold to local investors which included John K. Hanson who took the industry to new levels.

Starting every Sunday this summer, from 1-4pm, the 1900 Mansion Museum
will open its doors to historical artifacts of the icon RV giant. Also available for the first time, newly recorded interviews on a 2 CD package of people who actually worked and witnessed the dramatic changes
Winnebago Industries went through to get where it is today.

Th Mansion Museum is located north of the Post Office in Forest City.
Tours are available every Tuesday and Thursday between noon and 3 pm.
