MASON CITY – A Mason City building inspector was honored by a local club for his service to the community.

City of Mason City Housing Inspector Ray Quayle received the “Service Above Self Award” this week from the Mason City Noon Rotary Club.

Mason City police were in attendance and noted, “Ray works regularly with MCPD on rental housing issues and recently put his talent to work repairing the SOG robot. Congratulations on your award!”

A Mason City landlord who recently worked with Mr. Quayle told NIT, “Mr. Quayle has a reputation for doing a thorough job and fairness. He seems to understand what the landlords are up against in town with tenants who sometimes abuse the system. He exemplifies the cooperation that is needed between the city and property owners that can help make Mason City a better place.”
