OBIT: Carol Margaret Thieman, 73, of Marble Rock

Carol Margaret Thieman, 73, of Marble Rock, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018 peacefully at home.

A funeral service for Carol Thieman will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Walter Bohl Community Center in Marble Rock. Inurnment will be at a later date at West Side Cemetery in Marble Rock.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the Walter Bohl Community Center in Marble Rock and will continue one hour before the service on Thursday.

Carol Margaret Thieman was born on August 24, 1944 in Watford, England. She was the daughter of Earl and Lillian (Perkins) Rowe. Carol received her education at Rockford High School and graduated in 1962. She went to work at White Farm in Charles City and later served as Postmaster at the Marble Rock Post Office until her retirement in 2005. Carol was united in marriage to Bill Thieman in January of 1963.

Carol loved the outdoors, birds, gardening, baking, gambling, camping, fishing, dancing and spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved following her children and grandchildren in all of their school and extra-curricular activities. Her granddaughters were the light of her eyes and she loved them (some might say spoiled them) beyond measure.

Living family members include her loving partner of 24 years, Wayne Love of Marble Rock; daughter, Penne Thieman and son, Ryan (Ben) Thieman of Marble Rock; daughter-in-law, Kellie Thieman and granddaughters: Madison, Mackenzie and Morgan Thieman of Rudd; brother, Barry Rowe of Rockford; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her fur baby and sidekick, Sammy; husband, Bill Thieman in 1992; daughter, Jennifer Thieman in 2016; sister, Susie Smith; brother, Gary Rowe; and her parents, Earl and Lillian Rowe.
