At least three people attacked at troubled Iowa residential facility

FAYETTE, IOWA – A Cedar Falls man is facing assault charges after allegedly attacking as many as three people at a troubled residential facility in Northern Iowa.

On April 7, 2018 at about 07:34 AM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting an assault in progress at Prairie View Residential Facility. Upon investigation it was discovered that, 24 year old Brandon Dean Slayden of Cedar Falls who is a resident at Prairie View, had assaulted 3 residents at the care facility and had also broken a television. Slayden was transported to the Fayette County Jail, charged with 3 counts of assault causing bodily injury and 1 count of Criminal Mischief 4th degree. Slayden was held for an initial appearance.

Recently, a Mason City man was guilty of dealing drugs in the facility. In another attack last month, three arrests were made. Also, there has been reports of sexual activity between workers in the facility and residents.
